The Barbados

Flora, Fauna, Sport, Arts, Crafts, Music - Barbados has it all.

Barbados may be a small island, but it has a big reputation for sporting and cultural attractions. In 2006 it hosted the World Golf Championships World Cup. In 2007 it is hosting seven matches in the ICC Cricket World Cup, including the final. Horse racing is extremely popular, as are the Polo season and surfing competitions. The golf facilities are first rate.

The island has a wealth of sights and attractions. To acquaint yourself with the teeming life of the surrounding Caribbean, you can learn how to scuba dive, go power snorkelling, take a trip in a submarine.

To enjoy the island’s tropical flora and fauna, try a visit to Orchid World, The Barbados Wildlife Reserve or, the Flower Forest. Equally popular are the underground lakes and waterfalls of Harrison Caves and the Animal Flower Cave.

The cultural life of Barbados is equally rich, with everything from the renowned Gallery of Caribbean Art to January’s Barbados Jazz Festival in January. You will also find a fascinating diversity of arts and crafts producers.
